Empowering the Community: NARCAN Training with CRCC's Venessa Moreno

At CRCC, we believe in equipping our recovery community with the tools and knowledge needed to save lives. Recently, our dedicated staff member and NARCAN trainer, Venessa Moreno, provided a vital NARCAN training session for our recovery community members. This hands-on training is an essential part of our ongoing efforts to combat the opioid crisis in Chicago and surrounding areas.

NARCAN, or naloxone, is a life-saving medication that can reverse the effects of an opioid overdose. In a city like Chicago, where the opioid epidemic continues to impact countless lives, having trained individuals who can administer NARCAN quickly and effectively is crucial. Venessa's training not only teaches participants how to use NARCAN but also raises awareness about the signs of an overdose and the importance of acting swiftly.

The training session was more than just a demonstration—it was an empowering experience for our community members. By educating and equipping them with NARCAN, we are building a network of first responders who can make a real difference in the fight against opioid overdoses. In a crisis where every second counts, the knowledge and skills shared by trainers like Venessa Moreno are invaluable to our community’s safety and well-being.
