Adam Brehmer’s Recovery Story
Adam Brehmer’s journey to recovery began at rock bottom—in December 2023, when

he was hospitalized for Delirium Tremens. Before that, he had faced two charges in Texas, each carrying potential sentences of up to 20 years. By some miracle, both charges were reduced to misdemeanors, and he served seven months in jail.
But even that wasn’t enough to break the cycle. “It was the experience in the psych ward that finally made me realize I couldn’t keep living that way,” Adam recalls. Years of battling addiction since 2009 had pushed him to the edge, and the fear of prison and death made him see that his chances were running out.
The turning point came when Adam entered an outpatient program, started weekly therapy, and leaned on the unwavering support of his family and friends. “I got sober in early January 2024, and my life hasn’t been the same since,” he shares. That decision marked the beginning of a new path—one defined by purpose, hope, and a determination to rebuild.
The Power of Surrender and SupportFor Adam, surrendering wasn’t about giving up—it was about finding the strength to accept help and trust the process of recovery. “Surrender to the process,” he says. “Trust in something that can guide you toward healing, no matter the method.” That trust, combined with the structure of his outpatient program and the support of loved ones, became a lifeline. Exercise also became a cornerstone of his sobriety, helping him find focus and stability.
Turning Pain into Purpose
Recovery didn’t just give Adam his life back—it reignited his passion for the future. Inspired by his own journey, he is now working toward his bachelor’s degree in Social Work, with plans to earn a master’s in Public Health. His goal is to help others find the same hope and healing that transformed his life. By turning his pain into a purpose, Adam has found a new way to live—one that’s focused on service, growth, and gratitude.
A Message of Hope
To anyone still struggling, Adam’s message is simple but powerful: “Recovery is possible. Surrender, trust the process, and keep moving forward—one day at a time.” His story proves that no matter how dark things get, there is always a way out with faith, support, and the courage to keep trying.
Adam’s journey from the brink of death to a life full of purpose is a testament to the power of surrender, support, and the determination to keep fighting. His story reminds us all that it’s never too late to start over and build a life worth living.
