Position Title: Campaign Coordinator
Salary: $65,000 - $70,000 annually, DOE
Travel Requirements: Must be able to travel throughout the state of Illinois
Project Overview: The Chicago Recovery Communities Coalition (CRCC) is launching the
PACSS grant project aimed at addressing the needs of two diverse and at-risk populations across Illinois: emerging adults aged 18-25 and adults over 21 who are legally permitted to use substances such as cannabis.
The project focuses explicitly on Non-Hispanic Black emerging adults who face a disproportionately high overdose fatality rate. Special considerations are
given to those at risk due to adverse childhood experiences (ACEs), mental health conditions, familial history of substance use disorders (SUD), and neurodivergence. The project spans all 102 counties in Illinois to ensure comprehensive statewide coverage.
About CRCC: CRCC is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit Recovery Community Organization operating as a peer-run entity and a member of the Faces & Voices of Recovery's Association of Recovery Community Organizations (ARCO). With a staff and board comprising individuals in recovery who represent a diverse range of racial and ethnic backgrounds, CRCC is dedicated to providing evidence-based Peer Recovery Support Services (PRSS) to individuals and families affected by substance use and co-occurring disorders.
Key Responsibilities:
Campaign Planning and Execution: Oversee the development, planning, and
execution of all custom educational campaigns aimed at the target populations.
Liaison Duties: Act as the primary liaison between CRCC, substance use prevention providers, and other key stakeholders to ensure a unified approach and consistent communication.
Needs Assessment: Conduct comprehensive needs assessments to identify the
specific needs of the target populations and inform campaign strategies.
Coordination and Management: Coordinate with peer recovery support specialists, graphic designers, and marketing consultants to develop relatable and impactful educational materials.
Committee Leadership: Lead the Recovery Educated & Empowered Committee (REEC) with six partner organizations, ensuring effective identification and recruitment of members from the target populations.
Monitoring and Evaluation: Employ continuous feedback mechanisms, track
performance metrics and conduct pre- and post-campaign surveys to assess changes in attitudes and behaviors regarding substance use.
Public Awareness Campaigns: Design, launch, and monitor five different public
awareness and education campaigns tailored to the target populations in the five IDHS regions in Illinois.
Website Management: Oversee the development and promotion of the Illinois
Educated & Empowered website, ensuring all campaign materials are accessible and promoted effectively.
Billboard Campaigns: Create and manage a statewide billboard campaign with tailored messaging to educate target populations and their loved ones about SUD/COD, promote harm reduction strategies, and foster empathy.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications, Public Health, or a related field. Minimum of 3 years of experience in campaign management, public health initiatives, or a related field.
Lived Experience: Preference for candidates with lived experience in long-term
recovery. Ideally within the age range of the target audience (18-25), but flexibility for higher-level experience is essential.
Skills: Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with diverse teams.
Travel: Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Illinois as required by the project.
